It’s the first day of the summer of 2016, and Marcos is terrified. This summer’s heat dome bred an infestation of insects all over Prospect Park, and Marcos must brave past it to get to work –it’s tip-splitting day! At home, his father is ill, and the doctors can’t diagnose him. When he gets home he finds that his father has grown antennae. Across the hallway, his neighbor can’t get ahold of his daughter, and there’s a gypsy moth that refuses to leave his house. Looking at the news, Marcos learns that everything he fears might become true at the same time: immigrants of all stripes across NYC are transforming into bugs, with no discernable pattern of causality.
